The Exponential Changemakers 2022 program focused on transforming the construction industry through disruptive materials, innovative solutions, and emerging technologies. The initiative aimed to challenge traditional approaches to design, construction systems, and operational management. As Guatemala continues to experience rapid urbanization, the need for more efficient, sustainable, and adaptable construction solutions has become critical. With projections indicating that 75% of the population will live in urban areas by 2032, the demand for housing and essential services is expected to grow significantly. Currently, the country faces a housing deficit of approximately 2.2 million units, driven largely by limited access to basic services. Addressing this challenge requires innovative approaches that enable scalable, cost-efficient, and sustainable development. Through collaboration with global startups, Progreso X explored solutions that enhance construction efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and contribute to the development of smarter cities and infrastructure. This edition reflects a commitment to building a future where innovation enables better living conditions and sustainable growth.
